What Powers Should Certain Classes Possess?

In certain RPGs, the player may have a party of characters revolving from different classes or jobs. I gonna talk about what powers should a priest, and a thief should have. I believe a priest should have the powers of light, water, and wind because of the powers mentioned in the Bible. The thief should have both the powers of lightning and darkness because thieves could be fast runners and steal at night.
